Almost June! What's new in blooms:

Here's what just started blooming today!
Allium on the back hill and chives:
Both varieties of geranium:
The Scotch Broom is in full bloom, and cheddar pinks are blooming:
Indigo is starting up:
My weigelas:
Not really a "bloom" but my blue spruce's new growth color is always something I love:
My Clown's Hat Peony just opened today:
It looks pretty near my new Carefree Wonder Rose:
Other Peonies are about to open:
Columbine just started(didn't know if this one was going to make it, so I'm happy it bloomed at all!):
Catmints are started(one newly transplanted batch looks pretty near the Variegated Jacob's Ladder):
My first Nellie Moser Clematis bloom of the year, too:
A few blooms on the Spiderwort:

And a note of goodbye to my bleeding hearts, which look like they are wrapping up for the year:

Heading out on this rainy day for some much-needed weeding and garden therapy!

A few more blooms

Came home today to find that I had more blooms on my variegated Jacob's Ladder(I divided this last year and gave it away, so it's smaller this year):
Also, my new little batch of Snow-In-Summer got a few blooms(this is a great plant for cascading over rocks or along borders.  Can't wait for mine to grow in more):
My orangey-red Scotch Broom just started up:
And my Cheddar Pinks also are about to start:
My new Threadleaf Bluestar has some blooms:
And there a couple of other things here that aren't blooming but are pretty to look at just because of their foliage.
Hostas are just starting to open up:

Spireas have pretty color:
Penstemon (Mystica):
Stonecrops:
Silver Mound Artemisia:
Silver Brocade Artemesia:
And if you still don't like any of these ideas, you can always go with a simple pot or two of annuals, to tie you over until summer stuff starts blooming!

Gone fishin~

Mark and I fished on our road for a bit, Friday night, fished yesterday morning a bit, and fished today for a while, and finally caught a few. I only caught a sunfish, but Mark caught a pickerel and then a decent-sized smallmouth bass, which is on the grill right now.
Here's to a fun season of trying to catch dinner!

May

Lots more green than color, but I do love the little blooms of May.
Jacob's Ladder

Another Jacob's Ladder variety(mixed in with some geranium)

Rhododendron

Ground Phloxes

Ajuga(mixed with some phlox)

Yellow Iris(new this year)

Carefree Wonder Rose(new this year...note the lighter outsides and darker insides)

Denim Iris(I'm a sucker for true blues in the garden)

Bleeding Hearts(only my 2nd year- love them)!

Bigroot Geranium, just starting

Lily of the Valley

Brunnera

Tidal Pool Veronica(new this year)

Allium

Sea Thrift (new this year)

Loving all of the green and pops of color of May, but can't wait for more color that June will bring!
