L and C went out to the yard about 30 minutes ago, for a recess-break salamander search. They found a bunch! Always an exciting spring milestone, finding the first cool critters of the year.
The boys are always so gentle with these newts, and barely handle them(oils from human hands can damage their skin). They have already released them all back to the wetlands on our property. Happy spring, newts and salamanders!
